The IB Middle Years Programme at MacArthur

Did you know that along with Annapolis Middle and Old Middle Middle North, MacArthur is one of only three Anne Arundel County middle schools selected to complete the rigorous authorization process to become an International Baccalaureate (IB) school?

MacArthur serves scholars in grades 6-8 and implements years 1-3 of the 5 year IB Middle Years Programme in conjunction with our partner school, Meade Senior High School.

Inclusive by design, the whole-school MYP at MacArthur benefits scholars of all interests and academic abilities. Scholars who successfully complete the five-year programme through grade 10 at Meade Senior High School are well-prepared to undertake the rigorous IB Diploma Programme (DP) or Career-related Programme (CP) in grades 11-12.
