The George Arlotto Leadership Award recognizes one outstanding Principal in AACPS annually. This award is named in honor of Dr. Arlotto, who served AACPS for 16 years, including eight years as Superintendent of Schools. Dr. Arlotto referred to himself as a "recovering High School Principal" and was instrumental in the creation of the Principal of the Year program in our school system. Each year, AACPS school principals demonstrating exceptional leadership are recognized and honored as nominees for the George Arlotto Leadership Award.
