Meade Middle School recently sent a survey regarding whether or not to continue with the school’s uniform requirement to all parents and guardians listed in PowerSchool. We received 687 survey responses out of the 859 students enrolled in our school – that is an impressive 80% response rate. Of the 687 surveys returned, 550 (80.1%) of the responses voted for the removal of the school uniform requirement beginning in the 2022-2023 school year.

As a result of the survey results, the school administration had the opportunity to ask our Superintendent to remove the uniform requirement for students attending Meade Middle School beginning next school year. Superintendent Arlotto has approved this request. Therefore, starting in the 2022-2023 school year, our students will no longer be required to wear a uniform to school.

It is important to note, however, that students will be required to follow the AACPS dress code in accordance with Policy JCD and Regulation JCDRA Student Attire and Personal Appearance, as well as the AACPS Student Handbook.
