Enrollment Information

  • Students enrolled in the AACPS Virtual Academy engage in virtual-only instruction during each school day.  No in-person learning is offered for Virtual Academy students.

    Virtual Academy students receive real-time, synchronous, high-quality instruction 4.5-6.0 hrs per day from certified AACPS educators and participate in AACPS curriculum and assessments as well as all Maryland state assessments.  Our school offers students an exceptional educational experience and has embedded structures and supports within our school day so that our students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.    

    NOTE: All Maryland state assessments will take place in-person for all Virtual Academy students. Families should review the information session video and other resources linked below before submitting an application to the Virtual Academy.  

    • The application window for the 2023-2024 school year has closed and any inquiries about possible enrollment for the 23-24 school year should be sent to virtualacademy@aacps.org.
    • All applications are reviewed for academic and residency eligibility.  The Virtual Academy is a Program of Choice and not a magnet, but the Virtual Academy does follow the magnet application timeline and processes outlined by the district.
    • The application window for the 2024-2025 school year was open from 10/9/23 through 11/9/23 and is now closed *The link to apply online can still be accessed by clicking the "apply now" button below to submit a late application for consideration.
