Virtual Summer School
The secondary summer school offers students a limited number of secondary courses and provides students the opportunity to: make-up work in which they were unsuccessful; improve grade averages in sequential subjects; and earn credits to meet high school graduation requirements. Each course is highly concentrated and reviews the course content to meet AACPS course standards. Assignment to Secondary Summer School will be determined by student's home school. Virtual Summer School will run July 7, 2021 - August 10, 2021. Classes meet virtually Monday-Thursday from 7:30 am - 1:10 pm.
NOTE: a limited number of honors level courses will be offered for retake this summer – in courses where students were previously unsuccessful. A list of these courses will be provided soon.
World Language Camps
Virtual Language Cafés (9th-12th)
Summer language cafés create an opportunity for our students to engage in meaningful conversation of relevant, current topics in the second language. In a virtual setting, students will have the opportunity to meet peers from around the country who will be enrolled in levels 3, 4, and AP in the upcoming school year. This is a casual setting moderated by an experienced high-level language teacher familiar with the strategies that help students progress along the spectrum of proficiency in speaking. A one-hour session per week will provide students opportunities to develop their speaking skills over the summer so that they don't get rusty! Unfortunately, at this time, registration is closed.
The Summer Languages Cafés will run virtually July 28 - August 20, 2021. Classes meet 1 hour per week.
Virtual Level-Up Language Camp (9th-12th)
The Level-Up Language Camp provides students guided practice with the communicative skills necessary to be prepared for the next level of language study. There will be some familiar topics as well as the pre-teaching of vocabulary and structures that students will see during the upcoming year. This is an opportunity for students to enhance their language skills in a low-pressure, fun and engaging environment. Students will make cultural connections between their own experiences and the lives of their peers who live in other countries around the world! Unfortunately, at this time, registration is closed.
The Level-Up Language Camp will run virtually June 26 - August 20, 2021. Classes meet twice a week for 1 hour.
Let's Travel Back to Ancient China: Chinese Immersion Camp (Rising 9th-12th)
Let’s time travel back to Ancient China! This is a STEAM enriched Chinese language immersion summer camp. It will provide 9th to 12th-grade students the opportunity to practice listening, speaking, and critical thinking skills while immersed in the Chinese language. Students will gain an increased interest in, and understanding of Chinese culture and language through an immersive Chinese language program with the theme “The Four Great Inventions of Ancient China”. Students will not only learn the language authentically as they take part in daily colorful cultural activities but also get to try their hands on Chinese arts such as making compasses, kites, papermaking, etc. NO Chinese language experience required! All levels accepted. Students who wish to attend this camp will need to self-transport. Unfortunately, at this time, registration is closed.
The Chinese Immersion Camp will run July 12 - July 22, 2021. Classes meet in person at Arundel High School Monday-Thursday from 8:30 - 3:30pm.
Newcomer Transitional Math (Rising 9th-12th)
Original credit course in Transition Math for students new to U.S. Schools. Students will engage in foundational math skills while developing English language skills for mathematics and instructional settings. A social-emotional learning component is designed to build student efficacy and prepare for transition to U.S. high school. Unfortunately, at this time, registration is closed.
The Newcomer Transitional Math will run July 6-August 3, 2021. Classes meet virtually Monday-Thursday from 8:00 am- 10:30 pm.
ESY CAMP (9th-12th)
Designed for special education students currently in Grades 9-12 who require additional support per their IEP; students will engage in learning throughout the month of July in a relaxed, positive setting. No registration required. Contact your Case Manager for questions regarding your student’s potential need for Virtual ESY programming. Identified students who are eligible will be notified.
The ESY CAMP will run July 6 - July 29, 2021. Classes meet in-person Monday-Thursday from 7:00 am - 10:45 am. Invitation Only.
Summer Math Boost Camp (9th)
Attention 9th Graders!! Are your math skills where they should be for your first high school math course? Are you sure? Join us for a week of exploring those math concepts we know you will need to be successful this fall so you can be a powerful math learner. Conquer your misconceptions, learn how to succeed, and develop strategies to approach math confidently and effectively. The skills, understandings, and thinking you need for your fall math course will be reviewed through positive and fund discovery. Unfortunately, at this time, registration is closed.

Summer English and Math Boost Camp (Rising 10th-12th)
Are your English and math skills where they should be for you to be successful in the next course? Are you sure? Join us for Summer English and Math Boost Camp for a week of exploration of the math concepts and English skills you will need to be a powerful learner and meet with success in the fall. Develop new strategies, clarify misconceptions, and learn to approach math and English with more confidence. Summer English and Math Boost Camp will provide an engaging review of the reasoning, skills, and knowledge you will need to master your fall courses! Summer English and Math Boost Camp will run two sessions: July 26 - July July 29 and August 2 - August 5, 2021, at Northeast and South River High School. Classes meet in-person Monday-Thursday from 9:30 am - 1:30 pm.
College Application Camp (Rising 12th)
Get "inspired" at this year's Telling Your Story - College Application Camp. This day camp which runs August 2nd - August 5th will support students through the college application process. Students will learn that the entire application tells "their story" of passions and values that they hold dear so that college admissions will see who they are and what they will bring to their college. College reps will share information about what they "look for" in the application, essay, and supplements. Students will get help brainstorming and starting their personal essays. They will get information on the supplement questions and essays. A Financial Aid expert will talk to students during camp and their parents that evening about the financial aid process. At the end of the week, students should have a good start on Telling Their Story.
College Application Camp will run August 2 - August 5, 2021 for North County, Old Mill, Glen Burnie, Annapolis, Meade, and Southern. Invitation Only.
Certification Support Camp at CATN (10th-12th)
During this camp, CAT North students will be given time and instructional support to prepare and/or complete their certification test(s) and/or state licensure. The programs offered include Environment Resource Management, Cosmetology, HVAC, Bake & Pastry, Culinary, IT Networking, Academy of Health, CAD, Electricity, and Automotive. Certification Support Camp at CATN will run July 12 - July 22, 2021. Classes meet in person Monday - Thursday from 8:00 - 12:00pm.
Computer Science Camp (Rising 9th - 12th)
Designed for students with an interest in STEM careers who would like to experience opportunities to learn more about computer science through fun and engaging activities. Parents will need to provide their own transportation for this camp and all sessions will be located at South River High School. Unfortunately, at this time, registration is closed.
The Computer Science Camp is a one-week camp that repeats two times between July 12 - July 22, 2021. Classes meet in-person Monday-Thursday from 8:00 - 3:30pm.
Service Learning Camp (9th - 12th)
This summer camp provides students in grades 9 - 12 an opportunity to earn service learning hours either for recovery of SL hours as a result of COVID 19 or for distinguished recognition for students who have a desire to commit additional time to service-learning now and into the future.
The Service Learning Camp is a one-week camp that repeats two times between July 19 - July 29, 2021. Classes meet in-person Monday-Thursday from 9:30 - 12:00pm. Invitation Only.
Acer Service eLearning Repair CAMP (Rising 9th-12th)
AACPS is hosting an in-person summer tech camp for rising 8th-grade students who are interested in earning an Acer Student Techspert Certification. This model-specific program enables students to learn to repair Chromebooks. During the 2-week summer program, students will complete the 7.5 hours Acer online course and transfer those skills during hands-on repair time. Students who attend this camp will need to arrange for their own transportation. Unfortunately, at this time, registration is closed.
The Acer Service eLearning Repair Camp will run three sessions: July 6 - July 15, July 19 - July 29, and Aug 2 - Aug 12, 2021. Classes meet in-person Monday-Thursday at Arundel High School from 9:00 - 12:00pm.
Kids in College CAMP (Rising 9th-12th)
AACPS is partnering with Anne Arundel Community college to provide a plethora of summer camp options. Camps range from Structural Engineering Basics, Jewelry Making, Fashionistas, Math ReadyCreative Writing, Hogwarts, Photo Challenges, Percy Jackson, to Creative Henna Design Camps. Descriptions, Dates, and Times are all outlined in the registration link at the top of the page. Students who attend this camp will need to arrange for their own transportation. The Kids in College Camps will run all summer at a variety of schools in July and August. Classes meet in-person Monday-Thursday either half-day mornings or half-day afternoons. Exact locations, dates, and times can be found in the registration form.
Cooking, Sewing, Design and Baking Camps
How Baking Works Camp (Rising 9th-12th)
Students will learn about the purpose and importance of different types of baking ingredients. Hands-on learning would occur by substituting different ingredients in a simple recipe to see how it affects the overall quality of the baked good. Students who attend this camp will need to arrange for their own transportation. Unfortunately, at this time, registration is closed.
How Baking Works Camp will run for two sessions: July 12 - July 15 and July 19 - 22, 2021. Classes meet in person at Arundel High School Monday-Thursday from 8:30 - 12:30.
Cooking Around the World Camp (Rising 9th-12th)
"Cooking Around the World” is a beginner cooking class perfect for cooks who are just starting out or would like to refresh their fundamentals. There will be demonstrations and hands-on activities exploring a wide variety of culinary concepts. We will learn, create, and enjoy a new menu each week featuring cuisines from Africa, Asia, The Americas, and Europe. Students who attend this camp will need to arrange for their own transportation. Dreamspace Interior Design Camp (Rising 9th-12th)
Students will learn the foundations of Interior Design through space planning, the digital drawing of floorplans, elevations, and perspectives, and color and furniture analysis. Students who attend this camp will need to arrange for their own transportation. Unfortunately, at this time, registration is closed.
Dreamspace Interior Design Camp will run for four sessions: July 12 - 15, July 19 - 22, July 26 - 29, and August 2 - August 5, 2021. Classes meet in person at Old Mill High School Monday-Thursday from 8:30 - 3:30.
Fashion Designer's Boot Camp (Rising 9th-12th)
Students will learn how to use the sewing machine and a flat pattern to create clothing of their choice. Learn the ins and outs of the fashion industry and design your own collection and branding concept. Students who attend this camp will need to arrange for their own transportation. Fashion Designer's Boot Camp will run from July 12 - July 15, 2021. Classes meet in person at Northeast High School Monday-Thursday from 8:30 - 3:30.
Miniature Pastries Camp (Rising 9th-12th)
Students will learn how to make an assortment of miniature pastries (petit fours) that are appropriate for any fine dining event or holiday table. Students will learn how to use fondant, pastillage, and versatile frostings & glazes to create unique designs on their pastries. Students who attend this camp will need to arrange for their own transportation. Unfortunately, at this time, registration is closed.

Magnet Bridge Camps
PVA Bridge Camps (9th-12th)
Students will experience components of the PVA program designed to prepare them for the 2021 - 2022 school year. The face-to-face and virtual formats will offer experiences that are fun, rigorous, and relevant to the PVA course of study. Participation eligibility is limited to AACPS PVA Students.
The PVA Summer Bridge Camp will run July 6 -July 21, 2021. Classes meet both virtually and in-person Monday-Wednesday from 8:00 am-4:00 pm. Invitation Only.
STEP Up to STEM Bridge Camps (Rising 9th)
STEM Summer Bridge Sessions are designed for students who have accepted a seat in a Magnet BMAH or STEM Program entering Grade 9, Fall 2021. There is a large variety of bridge camp being offered virtually throughout the summer. An email will be sent to qualified students from the Magnet Tracking System with links and sessions descriptions.
The STEM Bridge Camp will run in one-week sessions starting July 12 and ending July 29, 2021. Invitation Only.
IB Summer Bridge Camps (9th-12th)
IB Summer sessions are designed to introduce new IB magnet students to their IB World School community, and all the exciting components offered within the IB Middle Years and Diploma programs! Students may choose to engage in IB Design challenges, local and global community action, and language exploration. Dance Intensive CAMP @ Old Mill Complex (9th-12th)
Summer Dance Intensive is a specialized, four-day program that focuses on advancing a dance's artistic skills with instruction in ballet, modern and jazz technique as well as performance choreography. The Dance Intensive CAMP will run in-person July 12 -July 22, 2021 and classes meet Monday - Wednesday from 8:00 am - 3:30 pm and on Thursday from 8:00 - 8:30 pm due to the final performance.
Virtual Master Dance Classes (9th-12th)

MD Hall Art Camps (Ages 6 - 15)
MD Hall is offering a plethora of art camps for various age groups. From Arts & Crafts to Dance to Painting Workshops. These full or half-day camps are open to all students who attend AACPS schools in the Annapolis Cluster. Unfortunately, at this time, registration is closed.
The MD Hall Art Camps will run as one-week sessions all throughout the summer from June 21 -August 9, 2021.
Second Space: Visual Arts GT Enrichment Camp (Rising 9-12)
Second Space is your chance to push yourself further as a visual artist. you will engage in daily art prompts that allow you to explore the visual arts with like-minded students and instructors. The summer sessions are focused on drawing on location with an eye on nature, architecture, and the figure. Journaling will also be emphasized daily as we develop and experiment with a wide array of skills and techniques. Students who are interested in participating in this camp will need to arrange their own transportation. Additionally, students will need to pack a lunch and water each day as the camp will be outdoors and bring a pencil and sketchbook. There is no registration link for this camp as it is invitation only.
The Second Space Camp will run in person from July 12 - July 15, 2021. Class will meet from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm at various locations throughout Annapolis.
AI Scholars Live Online (9th-12th)
AI Scholars Live Online is a 10-session virtual program that exposes high school students to fundamental Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts and guides them to build a socially impactful project. Taught by our team of graduate students from Stanford, MIT, and more, students receive a personalized learning experience in small groups with a student-teacher ratio of 4:1. Virtual Language Villages - Youth Programs (Ages 8 - 18)
Concordia Language Villages is excited to offer participants new opportunities to begin or continue their adventure in language and cultural learning! Villagers ages 8-18 (age ranges vary by language) can join one or more Virtual Village sessions — beginning to advanced language learners welcome! One-week sessions are offered in over 14 languages. Virtual Let's Be Ready for Math (Rising 9th - 12th)
Attention 9th - 12th-grade students! Are your math skills where they should be for your next high school math course? Are you sure? Receive one-on-one tutoring with a certified math teacher for four 45 minute virtual sessions to review material to ensure you are ready for your next course. Tutors are prepared to ensure you have the foundation to move forward into Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Pre-Calculus. Sign up is for a four-session commitment the week of July 26 - 29 or the week of August 2 - 5. All tutoring sessions will be virtual with the Skooli tutors. Unfortunately, at this time, registration is closed.
Virtual Let's Be Ready for Math registration is first come first serve, with a limit of 80 slots.

Secondary Summer School: Summer School is free for AACPS students. Students outside of AACPS may register; however, there will be a fee associated per course.
Summer Camps: AACPS Summer 2021 Camps are free for AACPS students. Federal Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief [ESSER] funds are being used to support summer camps and programming. These funds cannot be used to support non-AACPS students, hence these camps are only open to AACPS students.
Outdoor Education Camps
Arlington Echo SUMMER Camps (9th - 12th)
Camp Arlington Echo is an outdoor environmental day camp for AACPS students entering grades K - 5 who have an interest in the environment, making new friends, adventure, and personal growth! Following current COVID-19 guidelines, campers will experience 4 fun filled days at AACPS's Arlington Echo Outdoor Education Center in Millersville, Maryland immersed in the natural wonders of Chesapeake Bay ecosystems! Traditional camp activities provide opportunities to explore, investigate, and experience a variety of nature-based activities including ecology, hiking, canoeing, swimming, archery, arts and crafts, songs, games, and fun! Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Camp spaces are limited and will be filled through a selection process. Limited bus transportation may be available but is not guaranteed. The SUMMER CAMPS will run June 28 - July 1 and July 26 - July 29, 2021. Campers will meet in-person Monday-Thursday from 8:30 am - 4:00 pm.
