    Community Arts Club

    By participating in the Community Arts Club, students will discover how they can use their talent and passion for visual art to better their community while also improving art techniques and skills. Previous projects have included mural design and creation, painting pet portraits to benefit the SPCA and school musical set design.

     

     Bates Buddies  * Beginning in October*

    Best Buddies is a student-run friendship club, which creates buddy pairs between students with and without disabilities. Best Buddies helps to create an inclusive school climate for students and a community culture of acceptance.

     

    Concert Band) Club

    Location: Room 001 Band room

    This club is open to all students who wish to learn a band instrument after school on Tuesday or Thursdays.  There is no audition.  Instruments offered include:  flute, clarinet, oboe, trumpet, saxophone, French horn, trombone, baritone, tuba, and percussion.  Students who are in the band class during the school day, and students not in a band class are invited.  Instrument loans are available.

    The Bates Drama Club is excited to announce our 2019–20 production: Singin’ in the Rain Jr. This musical is a stage adaption of one of the “greatest movie musicals of all time.” All Bates students are encouraged to audition this fall.      English Learners Game Club-

    English Language Learners will participate in games with other English Learners in a relaxed  setting to encourage English dialogue.

     

     

    English Learners Tech Club

    In the English Learners Tech Club, EL students will be able to apply technological skills to grow themselves as learners while utilizing English language conversational skills.

     

     

    Garden Club

    Sponsored by  Ms. Ford

    Location: Room 205

    Garden Club is for students who want to learn more about growing food, replacing habitat, and taking care of plants. Students will be getting dirty, working outside, using tools, planting, weeding, and learning different ways to grow plants. Learn some practical, valuable life skills, enjoy the outdoors, and make Bates a more beautiful place!

    Have you ever felt stressed or overwhelmed? No worries! Meditation and Mindfulness Club is a great place to learn new skills to help you at school and even at home. will work on our breathing, empathy, expressing our emotions, and so much more. Hope to see your there!

    Description: Are you looking to have fun, make new friends, and promote teamwork? Join the Bates Step Team where we have fun by using our hands and feet to make rhythmic movements and beats!​

     

     Strings Club

    Sponsored by Dr. Taylor

    Location: Strings room

    For all students wishing to learn a stringed instrument and for those whose schedule does not permit them take strings class during the regular school day.  Students are encouraged to explore a variety of stringed instruments, and may be invited to participate in Liberal Arts strings concerts and field trips.  Students will practice and rehearse orchestral and ensemble music, as well as participate in special projects in pop and jazz.

     

     Student Government Association (SGA)

    Description:  SGA is a group of students working together to make decisions to improve our school.  Activities include planning spirit weeks, service learning projects, afterschool activities (dances), student body meetings and fundraisers.  We will also meet with other schools and work to build leadership skills.
