School Nurse
School Nurses in Anne Arundel County
The Anne Arundel County Department of Health provides registered nurses and health assistants to every school in AACPS. Working with parents, school staff, and students, these trained professionals provide health screenings, administer mandatory vision and hearing tests, monitor chronic illness, develop and implement personalized health plans, and advise school teams on health topics and issues.

School Resource Officers and School Crossing Guards, provided by the Anne Arundel County Police Department, are essential members of this collaborative team.

Every day, nearly 58,000 AACPS students ride the bus to school. At the front of each bus, drivers and attendants draw upon their extensive training, professionalism, and love of children to make sure that every student gets to school safely and on time.
