Strategic Plan Indicators
-
After each school leadership team reflected on its school culture, community, and the key contributing factors to student growth, they used this information to select the Strategic Plan Indicators that would have the greatest positive impact for their students. Each school was directed to select two to six indicators on which to focus during the 2018-19 school year. Certainly, we all know that if we focus narrowly and deeply, we are more likely to realize positive results. The indicators that this school’s leadership team selected are noted below.

Strategic Journey
-
Throughout the next 3 years, schools will focus on their chosen Strategic Plan Indicators as the drivers to increase student engagement and achievement within their schools. They will choose strategies to help them grow or increase within each indicator and will monitor and evaluate the student and school changes that take place along the journey. Below you will see what this school imagines their students and school to look like in 2021 after having focused and worked on their chosen indicators for three years.
Our Vision of Success: 2021
-
Students will see consistency in behavior expectations. Routines and procedures will not only be explained, but will be taught throughout the school year. The students will feel like they belong to the Nantucket family. They will know that Nantucket Elementary is a safe and caring environment for them. Students will know that their teachers care about them through the relationship building during Community Circles and through instruction. They will experience fewer conflicts among peers.
Adults will see people working together and contributing to the Nantucket team. They will see teachers building honest and caring relationships with their students. There will be a sense of community among all stakeholders at Nantucket Elementary. Those who come into Nantucket Elementary will experience a friendly and welcoming environment, where diversity is cherished and celebrated. The gap between the math and language arts scores will be minimized through our work on the indicators identified in our School Improvement Plan. Instructional practices will reflect the desire for our students to achieve at PLD 4 & 5 in both math and language arts. Increased, purposeful differentiation in math classes will move our students to achieve higher on state assessment. We strive to maintain (currently 80%) or raise the percentage of our students
(K- 5th grade) that will be reading on or above grade level, as measured by the Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark Assessment.
