Strategic Plan Indicators

  • After each school leadership team reflected on its school culture, community, and the key contributing factors to student growth, they used this information to select the Strategic Plan Indicators that would have the greatest positive impact for their students.  Each school was directed to select two to six indicators on which to focus during the 2018-19 school year.  Certainly, we all know that if we focus narrowly and deeply, we are more likely to realize positive results.  The indicators that this school’s leadership team selected are noted below.

Strategic Journey

  • Throughout the next 3 years, schools will focus on their chosen Strategic Plan Indicators as the drivers to increase student engagement and achievement within their schools.  They will choose strategies to help them grow or increase within each indicator and will monitor and evaluate the student and school changes that take place along the journey.  Below you will see what this school imagines their students and school to look like in 2021 after having focused and worked on their chosen indicators for three years.

Our Vision of Success: 2021

  • Our goal is to support the whole child and family by offering a positive, healthy, safe, engaging, supportive, and rigorous environment for their elementary school experience.    Members of the community will see developmentally appropriate practices, lessons to support students’ social-emotional growth, opportunities to promote literacy and math skills, and parent-school partnerships to ensure academic success.

All of our students and student subgroups will meet with increased success on standardized assessments in English Language Arts and Math. Students will become more confident readers and mathematicians through our continued monitoring and support of their progress. We will develop into a true community of readers. Our students will understand what they read, enjoy what they read, and eagerly share their reading with others.

We established a teacher-student mentoring program which will continue to provide personalized supports to selected students in our school. In addition, our staff and PTA will intentionally work to create powerful and magical moments (e.g. special recognition, events) to add excitement and fun to the day-to-day routines. We will strive to ensure that every person who interacts with our school, leaves the experience feeling respected, optimistic and confident that Four Seasons Elementary School is a great place to send a child to learn and grow.

Additionally, Professional Learning Communities will extend beyond self-selected book study teams to purposeful instructional visits with colleagues. Every teacher will have the opportunity to observe and interact with colleagues based on an area of desired growth.  Adults will witness teams operating with a high degree of mutual trust, and staff members who are authentic in their words and actions to have every child achieve and succeed.
