Strategic Plan Indicators
-
After each school leadership team reflected on its school culture, community, and the key contributing factors to student growth, they used this information to select the Strategic Plan Indicators that would have the greatest positive impact for their students. Each school was directed to select two to six indicators on which to focus during the 2018-19 school year. Certainly, we all know that if we focus narrowly and deeply, we are more likely to realize positive results. The indicators that this school’s leadership team selected are noted below.

Strategic Journey
-
Throughout the next 3 years, schools will focus on their chosen Strategic Plan Indicators as the drivers to increase student engagement and achievement within their schools. They will choose strategies to help them grow or increase within each indicator and will monitor and evaluate the student and school changes that take place along the journey. Below you will see what this school imagines their students and school to look like in 2021 after having focused and worked on their chosen indicators for three years.
Our Vision of Success: 2021
-
Seven Oaks Elementary School faculty and staff will value every student, employee and community member, and will welcome diverse and unique perspectives. Students will experience a wellārounded education in a supportive and restorative environment that values connections, relationships, and partnerships among home, school, and the community. Monthly committee meetings and vertical team meetings will be held to analyze data and discuss next steps. Positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) and equitable practices walk-throughs will be conducted by the equity, PBIS and leadership teams. Family curriculum and/or engagement events with sign-in sheet of participants will be planned. PBIS Committee meetings held monthly with student input will be planned. Restorative Practices (Community Building Circles, Restorative Conversations, RP 5 Questions) will be implemented and monitored through bi-weekly walkthroughs.
Students will see evidence of positive behavior interventions and supports in place to include distribution of PRIDE passes, positive referrals, and opportunities to earn frequent incentives. Students will also experience lessons in the classroom that are rigorous, engaging, and relevant. Communityābuilding experiences will be included in classroom routines throughout the school year in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive culture that embraces diversity. Students’ socialāemotional development will be supported and we will build healthy school relationships through restorative practices.

Students will experience being the center of our practices. The instructional setting will be structured so that students purposefully attend to tasks, interact with one another in the learning tasks, generate questions and participate in discussions, and sustain engagement through positive reinforcement that they can and will succeed. Differentiated instruction will be planned to meet the needs of a variety of learners through three modes: content (what students learn), process (how students learn), and product (how students demonstrate learning).
School-based adults will attend weekly collaborative planning meetings (classroom, special education, and reading teachers), and F&P data will be analyzed. Monthly analysis of student attainment of reading and writing skills via formative assessments and writing rubrics will be conducted. Quarterly county reading assessments will be reviewed and analyzed. Common formative assessments will be created during weekly collaborative planning. Weekly walkthroughs by the leadership team to monitor progress with reading instruction will be facilitated. As a result, all students, including all subgroups of students, will show gains in reading at or above grade level. Adults will see highāquality learning experiences that will be grounded in diverse and standardsābased curriculum with assessments that inform instruction and multiple pathways to achievement.
