Strategic Plan Indicators
-
After each school leadership team reflected on its school culture, community, and the key contributing factors to student growth, they used this information to select the Strategic Plan Indicators that would have the greatest positive impact for their students. Each school was directed to select two to six indicators on which to focus during the 2018-19 school year. Certainly, we all know that if we focus narrowly and deeply, we are more likely to realize positive results. The indicators that this school’s leadership team selected are noted below.

Strategic Journey
-
Throughout the next 3 years, schools will focus on their chosen Strategic Plan Indicators as the drivers to increase student engagement and achievement within their schools. They will choose strategies to help them grow or increase within each indicator and will monitor and evaluate the student and school changes that take place along the journey. Below you will see what this school imagines their students and school to look like in 2021 after having focused and worked on their chosen indicators for three years.
Our Vision of Success: 2021
-
We envision Pasadena Elementary to be a school where we maintain high expectations for academic standards through rigorous instruction. We will continue to foster a positive, caring school climate where we respect and value diversity and prepare individuals for success in higher learning and careers. Our mission at Pasadena Elementary is dedicated to preparing students for college and career readiness, and promoting academic excellence and citizenship for all students. Pasadena Elementary will continue to provide a safe, nurturing, and compassionate learning environment. As a Specialty Site for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders, our school will continue to provide opportunities for students to be included with their non-disabled peers. (Indicators 1, 5 and 6)
Pasadena Elementary School will continue on the journey to implement a school-wide positive behavior intervention system (PBIS) with multi-tiered systems of support to create a positive, safe, engaging, and orderly learning environment in order to support the social and emotional well-being of students and staff. It is our hope that Pasadena Elementary School will earn at least 8 out of 10 points on the MSDE Climate Survey as documented on the School Improvement Plan Accountability Framework. Furthermore, students will report that Pasadena Elementary is a safe environment in which students are actively engaged in productive learning activities. School values of CARING, ACHIEVEMENT, RESPECT, and ENGAGEMENT will be highly visible. (Indicators 1 and 2)
Pasadena Elementary School will implement the ongoing use o informal and formal assessments to guide standards-based instruction. The rigors of the Common Core Standards and upcoming MCAP Assessments support the need to utilize and analyze assessments across all content areas to determine students’ level of readiness and achievement of instructional outcomes. Our goal is to use informal and formal assessments to target instructional approaches to ensure students are instructed at their level of readiness in order to increase mastery of outcomes and achievement on assessments.
