PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
AVID is an academic elective course comprised of over 90 students at Chesapeake Senior High School. Interested students complete an application and participate in the AVID interview process from which selections are made based on the AVID criteria and available spots.
AVID is designed to provide academic support to students in order to prepare them for eligibility to four-year colleges and universities. In the AVID elective, students focus on writing, reading, inquiry, collaboration, organization and reading while engaging in higher level thinking, relational capacity and college exploration.
