Please take a look at the Social Media resources for background reading on this topic. Feel free to discuss the following questions with teachers in your schools and bring back their thoughts and ideas for discussion at our October 2, 2017 Superintendent’s Teacher Advisory meeting.
Questions to be considered:
- How do teachers feel about the use of Social Media by students and by adults in your schools?
- What positive opportunities do you see opening up or being met due to the presence of social media in the hands of our teachers, parents, or students?
- Are there any challenges teachers are encountering with social media use in our schools? If yes, how are they handling these challenges?
- Do teachers or schools need support related to appropriate use of social media with colleagues, students, parents, community partners? If yes, what supports would be helpful?
- Are there any best practices from teachers in your schools that you feel should be shared with other teachers around the county?

The topic for the month of November is "Teacher Fundraising for Ideas, Events, & Transportation." We will be discussing teacher fundraising, including the use of online fundraising programs such as Donors Choose and Go Fund Me.
