SUMMARY |
|
WHERE WE ARE TODAY |
CHANGES IN DEMOGRAPHICS/STUDENT PERFORMANCE |
The culture at Corkran Middle etc etc 50%-75% of students participate in co-curricular activities Student performance on assessments has remained constant, with only a slight decrease within the past 5 year. |
TRADITIONAL DATA |
SPECIFIC THAT CONTRIBUTED TO SELECTION OF INDICATORS |
Traditional student data that was used to select our Indicators includes the Student Mobility data from the most recent Maryland Report Card. |
LOOKING BEYOND THE SCHOOLYARD |
COMMUNITY FACTORS |
Non-traditional student data used includes median home prices, median rent prices, median household income figures, and Climate Survey (MDS3) data. The data from those sources indicated significantly increased housing costs, along with a disproportionate increase in the median household income. Additionally, the Climate Survey data indicated that 61% of respondents strongly agreed/agreed with the statement " I feel like I belong"; and only 52% strongly agreed/agreed with the statement. |
OUR VISION OF SUCCESS |
2 YEAR FUTURE RESULTS |
Within the next two years, the Corkran Middle School community will regularly engage in Town Hall discussions, book studies and roundtables to discuss relationships, cultural responsiveness and inclusion. |
5 YEAR FUTURE RESULTS |
After implementing these practices for five years, we anticipate that the percentage of students that feel like they belong, and that believe that the instructional materials and resources reflect their culture, ethnicity and identity will have increased substantially. text here text here |
