Senior-Senior Corps
-
Do you like working with young children? Do you believe in the importance of literacy and academic support at an early age? Well, the AACPS Senior-Senior Corps may be just the program for you! This program, which was implemented at Hilltop, Hebron-Harman, Lothian, and Pasadena elementary schools this past fall and will be implemented at Georgetown East and Ft. Smallwood this spring, will allow Senior Citizen volunteers -- and high school senior student volunteers -- to serve as academic supports and mentors to the youngest of our learners (Grades K-2). For more information, please review the info-flyer below and/or contact Lori Fowler, ldfowler@aacps.org at 410-222-5391.
Below are some links to videos of Guided Reading in our county. Participants in the Senior-Senior Corps will be working on literacy development with our students.
