Developing Change Makers!

  • Taking action can happen at any age; even the smallest of us can make a difference! With the support of parents, educators, and the community, children in the IB Primary Years Programme cultivate the mindset needed to become change makers. Through the inquiry process, students develop the skills and knowledge needed in order to take sustained and meaningful action as a result of new learning.

At Jacobsville, we aim to empower students to leave their marks on the world.  Through daily lessons and summative assessments, students can showcase problems they've investigated and the action they have taken or plan to take.  For example, a group of third graders saw the need to clean up trash around our school.  They designed and built their own trash grabbers and spent time putting them to good use.
