We are so excited that you want to learn more about the IB Programmes at Meade High School! Below you will find the overall program of study for students in both the Middle Years (MYP) and Diploma (DP) Programmes.
Students in the MYP (grades 9 & 10) at Meade enroll in honors and AP courses. Students in honors classes are taught the AACPS curriculum using IB pedagogy. AP courses follow the Advanced Placement curriculum from the College Board.
Students in the Diploma Programme study courses from the IB. The course descriptions for IB DP courses have been included below. Additionally, we have included a sample program of study for you to see what an IB student's schedule could look like over 4 years.
Below, please find the IB DP courses that are offered at Meade HS. All IB DP students study 6 subjects and complete the core requirements. Courses with an asterik next to them are available for students outside the IB cohort to take if they have successfully completed the IB Personal Project in grade 10. Please contact Ms. Quinn, the IB Diploma coordinator, at JQuinn@aacps.org for more information about taking individual IB courses.
