Corkran Middle School in collaboration with families and the community, promotes a positive academic environment where all students are celebrated and supported as they meet and exceed high academic standards to prepare them to become responsible citizens in a constantly transforming society.

A Brief History

Since its opening in 1962, Corkran Middle School has provided quality education to residents of Glen Burnie and surrounding areas.  Corkran is a proud part of the Anne Arundel County Public School system, which is the 5th largest school system in Maryland.  Our feeder elementary schools are Oakwood, Quarterfield, Richard Henry Lee, and Woodside, and many of our students go on to attend Glen Burnie High School. Our goal is to support our students’ needs in and out of the classroom, and to help them become life-long learners.  We truly believe we can achieve Corkran to College; Excellence for All.

Over the 2012-13 school year, Corkran celebrated its 50th anniversary, ending with a 5k Fun Run in April 2013.
