Parent Leadership

Being engaged in your children's education can bring lasting positive effects for your children. There are so many ways you can be engaged! You can learn about your child's curriculum this year, volunteer your time at your child's school, talk with your children about what they are learning, use PowerSchool Parent Portal to stay up-to-date with your child's grades and attendance, and much more.
In addition to being engaged within your family and school, AACPS also provides a number of leadership opportunities for families. These are based on the belief that parents are most knowledgeable about their families and communities and can provide a useful perspective on the programs and community efforts that will benefit all children and families. The Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) Executive Committee, and the Anne Arundel Council of PTA's are both avenues for parents seeking a leadership role.
