Degrees and Certifications:

Jason Semanoff, Jr., 8th Grade, Chesapeake Bay Middle School

My name is Jason Semanoff, Jr. and I am an 8th grader at Chesapeake Bay Middle School. I am honored to serve as your Middle School coordinator for the 2023.24 school year. Some of my hobbies include, cooking, reading, arranging music, and playing cello, guitar, bass guitar, drums and a little bit of keyboard. This is my second year in CRASC. Last year I served as one of the Educational Liaisons for CRASC. Throughout my time in AACPS I have always strived to advocate for my fellow students. My journey to advocacy started in 4th grade when there was a proposed second bay bridge to go at the end of the main road in Pasadena. I knew that my community did not want a bridge by us because our road regularly gets shut down. So, I convinced my 4th grade teacher to have our class write letters opposing the bridge to our local state senator. It worked! Since then, I have always strived for diversity and inclusion in AACPS and my community.  During my term as middle school coordinator I plan to advocate for my fellow middle schoolers, but also get middle school students more involved in CRASC and teach them how to advocate for themselves and others.“It has to start somewhere. It has to start sometime. What better place than here? What better time than now?”- Zack De La Rocha
