• Our awardees must meet a rigorous set of standards to be named an All-County dancer, including:

    • 3.0 GPA or higher
    • Excellent attendance at school and rehearsals
    • Positive attitude
    • Dance Company member at their school for the entire school year
    • Completes all Dance Company requirements (performances, assignments, deadlines, etc.)
    • No disciplinary problems at school or in dance
    • Advanced dancer skills
    • Leadership ability
    • Sets high personal standards
    • Strives for excellence
    • Service to the Dance program in AACPS
    • Teacher must be present at the all-county selection meeting

    Ashley was chosen to represent Magothy River Middle School Dance Company for her exceptional technique and performance quality. She is a leader in Company, as well as a class leader in Dance for Athletes. Ashley has a natural ability to choreograph a dance for her peers, and is able to give positive and constructive feedback in a way that inspires improvement.

    Tia is a natural leader with high expectations of herself and others. As Lindale Middle School Dance Company co-captain, she consistently challenged dancers with unique warm ups and choreography.     Jakiah is a dedicated and hardworking student who has given up days off from school to come in and help not just dance, but other departments in school as well.     Cora is an extremely talented choreographer with an incredible passion for dance, making her an asset to Southern High School Dance Company. She has been a member of Dance Ensemble for the past two years and has attended Summer Dance Intensive since middle school. She also had a successful audition at Regionals, resulting in her being selected for summer study with the Joffrey Ballet School.

    Eleanor, or “Ellie”, has been an exceptional addition to Annapolis High School Dance Company for the past three years. She has excelled not only as an International Baccalaureate student, but also as a leader within the AHS Senior Dance Company. Ellie has choreographed multiple times for her fellow Company members, and always expresses her creativity and passion for dance in each piece.

In addition to dance at South River High School, Erin is also on the STEM Advisory Board, a member of the National Honor Society, and a choreographer for the Talent Machine, making her a model student.

    Cameron (“Cami”) is a three-year South River High School Dance Company member and a member of Dance Ensemble. She is currently a member of National Honor Society of Dance Arts and the Financial and Event Coordinator for Company. In addition to Dance, Cami is the National Honor Society President, a Girl Scout working towards her Gold Award, an active member of the STEM Advisory Board, President of Unified Dance, Junior Class Office of the Seeking Smiles Student Support Group, and a member of the National English Honor Society where she presides as Public Relations Chair.

    Jenna has a commanding stage presence and is an outstanding dancer for Severna Park High School Dance Company.     Breauna has been on the Glen Burnie High School Dance Company team for three years. At age three Breauna was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, tendonitis, and osgood schlatter disease; this combination makes it very difficult for Breauna to make it through dance classes and performances without experiencing pain. Despite her diagnosis, Breauna perseveres through the pain and demonstrates a high level of mastery of technique. The level of dedication and commitment that Breauna has for dance and her Dance Company is immeasurable.

She is a two-year member who choreographed a beautiful modern piece that was a finalist selection in the Reflections Art Program. Devon is a great assistant to any dance class that she enrolled in - she helps any student who is struggling with dance steps by breaking them down into an approachable concept, and she voluntarily choreographed for Bodkin Elementary School this past year.

    Emma has been a member of Old Mill High School Dance Company for three years, and has become a role model for other students through her artistic and academic success. She choreographed a thought-provoking piece that was selected for performance at the Maryland State Dance Showcase this past winter. Throughout festival season, Emma performed in the county’s Ensemble, and has maintained involvement as a member of the International Baccalaureate program, all while maintaining an excellent GPA. Jenna’s innovative choreography was showcased at the Anne Arundel County Public School High School Gala in February of this year and, throughout the festival season, also performed with Ensemble. She was also a scholarship recipient at the Regional High School Dance Festival in March, earning recognition for her skills.
