Learning from our History

  • Learning from past successes and challenges is an important part of our strategic planning process. Below you will find annotated data highlights from our recent academic and climate work with students and parents. The results of this work informed many of our discussions and decisions related to our values and associated indicators for our new Strategic Plan.

Recent Intentional Academic Focus Areas – Elementary, Middle & High School

  • Since the 2015-16 school year, AACPS has addressed 3 significant Intentional Focus areas with laser like attention.  Meeting the single identified objective at each school level - elementary, middle, and high school – both demonstrates success for that specific achievement, and in turn, becomes a substantial lever to propel future academic gains.

Recent Intentional Climate Focus Area

  • AACPS participates annually in a climate survey, MDS3 (Maryland - Safe & Supportive Schools), to assess school safety, student engagement, and the school environment, as reported by students, parents, and staff. The following 2016-2017 climate results charts showcase responses to some key indicators by those stakeholders who participated in the survey.
