MEASURES TO BE USED TO ASSESS PROGRESS


  • Measures are the tools or instruments we use to ascertain how well we are progressing on each one of our indicators. The following are the measures chosen for use during the five years* of this Strategic Plan.  As we implement the plan over the five years, we will collect and analyze all data by student group annually and post it to the website for public view.

    • Student, parent, and employee climate survey (MSDE supported climate survey)

    • Fountas & Pinnell reading level assessments for grade 2 students

    • PARCC/MCAP Reading and Math assessments for grades 3-8 students

    • I-Ready participation and performance for grades 3-8 in Reading

    • I-Ready participation and performance for grades K-8 in Math

    • Quarterly assessments in core areas for grades 6-12 students

    • PARCC/MCAP English and Math assessments for grades 9-12 students

    • Scores on Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate – Diploma Program (IB) exams

    • Maryland Industry and state certifications earned - related to Career and Technical Education (CTE) completers

    • Student attendance

    • Numbers of stories of staff and students collected in schools and offices (foundations of relationships)

    • School use of Restorative practices (Circles and Restorative Questions)

    • Student completion of career-based professional internships

    • Student Enrollment in co-curricular offerings, including clubs, competitions, organizations, and events

    • Student participation in free virtual tutoring and virtual homework help

    • Student and community stakeholder participation in Service Learning experiences

    • Participation of community stakeholders in school-based clubs, meetings, events, and celebrations

    • Diverse workforce hiring and retention by employee unit
    • Student to teacher ratio by classroom

    • Recognitions for sound business practices

    *NOTE: Should any measures be discontinued during the 2018-2023 time period, we will select other appropriate tools or instruments in order to continue to monitor and measure progress and growth.
