Welcome to Edgewater Elementary, home of the Soaring Eagles! Since it was built in 1953, our school has been an integral part of the Edgewater community, and we are proud of its important heritage. Today, over 450 fabulous students in kindergarten through grade five learn and thrive at Edgewater under the careful guidance of our talented and dedicated faculty, staff, and families. At Edgewater Elementary students soar to success every day!
Because of it's close proximity to Warehouse Creek and the South River, the students and teachers at Edgewater Elementary show their commitment to improving the health of the Chesapeake Bay watershed by participating in the Chesapeake Connections Program, raising baby diamond-back terrapins, baby eels, growing bay grasses, and caring for our beautiful watershed restoration bog. This environmental focus is carefully integrated into the school’s implementation of AACPS curriculum and instructional practices.
Edgewater is fortunate to have a wonderfully supportive PTA with many parents who go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure the children have an exciting school experience. Our PTA is always planning new and creative events to unite the school and the community. Please come to one of our meetings!
We hope you find this website useful in learning about our school. In addition to information like, school hours, newsletters, school supplies, calendars, important events, and lunch menus, you can now visit the “Little Eagle Experience” portal which was created by students. It will feature student work, surveys, helpful websites, and much more.
The faculty and I eagerly look forward to working side by side with you to lead our children reach their full potential. Please do not hesitate to call on us if you have any questions or concerns. Together, there is nothing we cannot achieve.
