It’s hard to believe that another summer has come and gone. I hope that everyone has enjoyed some rest and relaxation, and feeling rejuvenated to start a new school year. The team worked hard to prepare for the students’ return and we are excited to get #AACPSBack2Awesome!
We will enter this school year receiving targeted academic support in the areas of Reading and mathematics where Title I funds will be used to support a targeted groups of students. However, we will continue to provide ongoing assistance and support for each and every child to reach his/her best in school. Through ongoing professional development, the Brock Bridge team will focus on developing school-wide and classroom supports to help students reach their best.
We will continue our goal to ensure that all students are reading on or above grade level. In addition, we will actively engage all students through positive and engaging learning strategies. We will be sure that all students can use critical thinking schools in all content areas, especially mathematics. All students will strive to be fluent in their mathematical skills for arithmetic and applying those skills in real-life situations.
We look to have parents support their children’s success through a variety of ways, including but not limited to school volunteerism, home support for academic success, open communication with school staff, and PTA participation. Not all of these options may not be the best fit for your personal availability, so I will trust that all parents will decide what works best for their family’s needs.
Our annual BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. We will begin the program in the cafeteria at 6:00 p.m. sharp. Spanish interpretation services will be available through headsets where translations will occur simultaneously as the speakers share information. All families are welcome to join us!
Thank you in advance for your support of our school community!
