Welcome to Ruth Parker Eason School! My name is Amy Guerke, and I am honored to be the Principal at this amazing school. Ruth Eason offers a unique learning experience for students aged 3-21 who benefit from individualized and specialized instruction. Our dedicated staff of special education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and support staff incorporate a variety of practices that provide engaging and meaningful experiences for our students.
At Ruth Eason School, we utilize a collaborative approach to support each student’s personal growth in communication, social and learning behaviors, vocational skills, functional skills, and academics. The use of an alternative curriculum allows for differentiation of learning outcomes, while still aligned to the standards of general education. Recognizing that communication is directly connected to each student’s growth in all areas, we are implementing a school-wide focus on communication this school year. Across the building and in our community settings, you will find a variety of communication tools to support all students in all learning environments.
We are proud of long-standing traditions and community partnerships at Ruth Parker Eason School. Many local businesses, non-profits, and area schools have a positive impact on our program through volunteering, donating materials, and creating fundraisers. In addition, our PTO provides several staff and school-wide events during the year. We are grateful for the support that these organizations provide to Ruth Eason and welcome others who would like to help make a difference for our amazing students and staff.
It’s going to be a great year at Ruth Parker Eason School. Please feel free to stop by or contact me at any time. I welcome input, suggestions, and support from our families and community.
