• Summer Programs are mandatory instructional components of grade 6 through 8 in the STEM Magnet Middle School Program. These programs are grade-level specific and are designed to introduce students to crucial concepts that they will encounter in their middle school coursework and beyond.  STEM Summer Programs immerse students in the STEM Values and empower students to apply these values to have an impact on the lives of others in a real and positive way.  In all these experiences, students creatively solve problems and translate those ideas and solutions into authentic growth opportunities.

Summer Programs for incoming 6th grade students have been totally revamped!  We are excited about our new partnership with the Maryland Science Center and look forward to engaging STEM students in lots of hands on experiences this summer!  Further details about the sessions and how to register will be posted here shortly.

Summer Programs will be held twice this summer.  You will only need to choose one session (each session is a 2-day, overnight session).

    Session 1:  June 24-25, 2019

    Session 2:  June 28-29, 2019

Rising 7th grade STEM Magnet students will participate in 2 full day sessions which will be a combination of in school learning experiences as well as field experiences.  Further details and registration information will be sent out from school STEM Department Chairs.

Rising 8th Grade STEM Magnet students will participate in a Summer of Service.  Students will do 5 hours of community service and 5 hours of hands on community outreach with an environmental organization.  Further details and registration information will be sent out from school STEM Department Chairs.

Further details about Transportation will be available by late May.
