10th Grade Summer Bridge Dates: JULY 6-8

Summer Bridge for rising 10th graders will be optional this summer. Students in grade 10 will be given the opportunity to participate in a face-to-face, collaborative Summer Bridge project, but it will NOT be mandatory. However – students who register for Summer Bridge WILL be expected to complete the experience, as the project is designed for collaborative rather than individual work.  The opportunity will be conducted face-face at Studio 39 on a first-come, first-served basis as dictated by building capacity limits.

This summer, PVA and Future History Now will be partnering to create a ground mural at Studio 39 in Annapolis. Future History Now is an Annapolis based, nonprofit organization that facilitates collaborative mural projects here at home and all over the world. You have more than likely seen many of their projects around town, including the Weird & Wonderful panels on the back of Maryland Hall, the recent Breonna Taylor Mural at Chambers Park and so many more. Learn more about FHN here: https://www.futurehistorynow.org/

This collaborative mural project will occur face-face at Studio 39 on a first-come, first-served basis as dictated by building capacity limits this July. Over the course of 3 to 4 days, we can accommodate approximately 15 high school PVA students to join FHN and PVA students from Bates and Brooklyn Park on each day of the project.

Note: Transportation is not provided. Students must provide their own transportation.

    Registration is now closed.

Incoming Students Summer Bridge Dates: JULY 12-14 or JULY 19-21

this is for all high school students NEW to the HS PVA Program

High School PVA Summer Bridge activities will be conducted both face-face at Studio 39 on a first-come, first-served basis as dictated by building capacity limits and virtually. For the face-to-face option, once capacity has been reached, those students who remain will be scheduled to engage in a virtual, synchronous Summer Bridge program that mirrors the in-person experience. We will be offering two opportunities for the 9th Grade Summer Bridge Experience: JULY 12-14 and JULY 19-21. Each set of dates will be first-come, first-served for the in-person experience with an option for families to choose the virtual experience if they prefer. The first-come, first-served basis begins on the day registration opens. We will not honor wishes expressed before that time.

Students will experience components of the PVA program designed to prepare them for the 2021-2022 school year. The face-to-face and virtual formats will offer experiences that are fun, rigorous, and relevant to the PVA course of study.

Note: Transportation is not provided for the face-to-face option. Students must provide their own transportation.

All rising 9th Grade students will be required to participate in PVA Summer Bridge.

    Registration is now closed.
