Operations and Logistics

The Office of Operations and Logistics operates all public school facilities in a manner conducive to the educational process by ensuring the health, safety, comfort, and welfare of the occupants.

 Operations manages the resources of very diverse programs. These include:

• Ensuring the cleanliness of more than 14 million square feet of interior school space
• The proper operation of all mechanical equipment in more than 120 elementary, middle, high schools and other educational centers
• All environmental related programs
• Preventative maintenance activities
• Energy related programs

Logistics manages the resources of very diverse programs. These include:

• The maintenance repair warehouse
• The operations material warehouse
• Mail and distribution services
• Property control inventory
• Textbook inventory
• Instructional equipment repair
• Fleet automobile service facility
• Student and human resource records archive
