AACPS partners with the Maryland State Department of Education in providing INCENTIVE scholarships for teachers who want to pursue National Board Certification, the highest teaching credential in the nation. This rigorous process can be achieved in one to three years.
The teacher must meet the following criteria to be eligible to participate in the National Board Certification State and Local Incentive Program:
1. Meet the definition of teacher as stated in MD. Ed. Article 6-1001
2. Meet the eligibility criteria established by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS); and
3. Hold a professional (APC or SPC) Maryland certificate at the time of application.
