Evaluating Materials for Instruction (MOI)
Items available as an instructional resource are being created at an unprecedented rate. Technology has propelled the world to a new level of material availability, making it possible to produce or change, or update material daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. At the same time, educators must use and develop classroom lessons and instructional materials that reflect global and cultural diversity that align to the strategic plan. AACPS staff must ensure that the materials used in the instructional program comply with the procedures outlined in this document as per Board of Education Policy. IH-JG Copyright law and fair use guidelines must be followed with respect to all approved instructional materials. It is imperative that vendor acceptable use and privacy policies are reviewed and approved prior to consideration. It is incumbent on all staff to follow through on these responsibilities

As new technologies and ways to deliver content and information are developed, the above group will determine the appropriateness, need, and method to review.
-
An online system, available to all personnel, will serve as a database of materials approved for use by students in classrooms and in media centers.
-
Look for the purple folder on Classlink for information about getting an application evaluated for use or looking up approved resources.

Paper to Digital
Make traditional projects digital!
Our world is moving from paper to digital. Are your students?
There is good reason to go digital. There is so much more you can do in a digital project than with paper and pencil. (Ever try adding audio to a poster?)
