The PVA High School Magnet program offers arts students the opportunity to build their artistic skill while gaining
real world experience. Located at Annapolis and Broadneck High Schools, this program is designed to engage
students in focused arts instruction with highly qualified teachers and professional artists to foster aesthetic and
critical thinking, creative inquiry, and artistic excellence. During extended day instruction, students from all arts
majors at both PVA schools have the chance to further refine their craft in small group instruction while expanding
their creative lens through collaboration, community engagement, and multiple performance avenues.PVA Program Highlights
- Arts-infused curriculum for students interested in achieving their maximum artistically through focused arts instruction with qualified teachers and professional artists to foster creative inquiry, artistic excellence, and community engagement.
- Provides collaborative experiences with professional artists and musicians
- Extensive instruction in chosen Prime arts area
- Offers many performance and exhibition opportunities
- Summer Bridge programs offer students opportunities for intensive study with PVA teachers, guest artists, and community arts partners
- Field trips to professional arts events, performances and exhibitions
- Opportunities for exploration across the arts in Extended Day
- Integration of technology for research, as a choice of media and/or as a tool to archive achievement
- Students build artistic skills while gaining real world experience
- Extended Day Program allows students to further refine their craft in small group instruction while expanding their creative lens through collaboration, community engagement, and multiple performance avenues.
