AACPS students in grades 5-12 have an opportunity to build, modify, maneuver, and use an underwater ROV with teammates. Students bring their ROVs to compete in a robotics event hosted at the United States Naval Academy and may be eligible to compete in the International SeaPerch competition hosted at the University of Maryland's hydro-lab.

SeaPerch is an innovative underwater robotics program that equips teachers and students with the resources they need to build an underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) in an in-school or out-of-school setting.
