    Explore Teaching with AACPS

    Interested in becoming a teacher with Anne Arundel County Public Schools?

    Join the “Teach Tuesdays with AACPS” virtual recruitment event to learn about AACPS and how you can be considered for a teaching position. Use this opportunity to ask questions of both our recruitment team and other guests.

    Learn about career opportunities within our school system for both new/seasoned educators as well as career changers. Gain further insight into the supports offered to current teachers and alternative teacher certification programs for those without an education background. Get your questions answered by current AACPS administrators, teachers, and district leaders.

    You’ll walk away with the process to apply and to sign up for either a screening interview or a one-on-one appointment to get more information. We look forward to having you join us!

Explore Certification

    The 2022-2023 So You Think You Can Teach Career Changer’s Workshop, (SYTYCT 2022), will present information about Maryland (MSDE) certification requirements and review multiple pathways for non-certified or conditionally certified new hires to meet these teaching certificate requirements.

    Information, including application requirements and timelines, will be provided about two Anne Arundel County Public Schools’ alternative certification programs. The content breakdowns of each program director can be found below. 

    • Maureen Gerrity, the program manager for the dual certification in special education/general education RTC program
    • Deborah Montgomery, the program manager for the RTC program for elementary/early childhood, middle, and high school critical shortage general education content areas
