Transportation

  • AACPS Summer 2023 student interns who are interning in our elementary school locations may ride the elementary school buses to their work locations.  Importantly, these buses pick up students from community hubs that may be further away from interns’ homes than what they are used to during the school year.  The information in the pink box below will help you to determine if you want to take advantage of this transportation.  Please take time to review the bus stops before filling out the Bus Transportation Request Form.

If you decide to ride to your internship on our school bus, please know that the bus driver will ask for your name before boarding.  Please speak clearly and let the driver know that you are an AACPS student employee who is interning this summer at the elementary school you are travelling to via the bus.  Your name will be on a list the drivers have been given. You will then be able to board the bus.  We have told the bus companies and drivers that you will sit in row 1 or row 2 of the bus and act very maturely.  If the first two rows of the bus are not available, please sit as close to the front of the bus as possible.
