Returning or Transferring to a Public High School
Home-instructed students who intend to complete their education at an AACPS high school should be aware that credit for high school coursework completed during home instruction is not automatically transferred. Students must document that their completed course work was equivalent to an AACPS course and then demonstrate mastery, which may be through required testing conducted by AACPS. When enrolling in a public high school, the school counselor and transfer liaison from the Home Instruction Office will develop a transition plan. Transition plans are developed based on these High School Credit Transfer Guidelines. (For Spanish version, click here.)
