• half gear with arrows swirling inside. Southern High Design: Preservation & Innovation

  • The Design: Preservation & Innovation Signature Program (DPI) challenges students to use design thinking to solve problems using vital workforce skills such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. They assess needs, apply global awareness and learning, design new ways of doing things, and develop new products appropriate to evolving needs.

Design Thinking is a human centered approach to solving problems and developing products, services, processes, and organizations. Students empathize with their audience and use creative techniques to determine solutions that meet those needs while being technologically feasible and economically viable.
