• Blueprint for Maryland's Future

  • In order to ensure that all students are prepared for college, career, and community, AACPS uses Blueprint and ESSER grant funds to provide additional supplemental instruction and tutoringfor students in Grades K-12. In the 2022-2023 school year, AACPS will employ 55 educators who will provide small group instruction for our Grade 1 learners who struggle. These students will receive targeted supports in groups of 4:1 to help build foundational literacy skills so that all students are prepared to transition from learning to read to reading to learn. In addition to this transitional supplemental instruction, AACPS also provides supports through:

    • Structured tutoring programs for students in Grades 4-8 that focus on literacy and mathematics. These tutoring programs are both in person and virtual and allow for students to build relationships with instructors who them provide customized support for students.
    • Virtual tutoring programs for Grades 6-12 that provide supports for core subjects at all levels, including support for students in Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) courses. This tutoring allows students to receive help in building prerequisite skills as well as help in homework and completing projects.
