About the Program
-
Secondary Summer School offers a limited number of courses for high school and middle school students, which provides students the opportunity to:
- makeup work in which they were unsuccessful.
- improve grade averages in sequential subjects.
- earn credits to meet high school graduation requirements.
Each course is highly concentrated in a fast-paced learning environment that reviews the course content. A minimum of 12 students must be enrolled in a class to be offered. All classes will have a one-hour final assessment on the last day of the summer school session.
Credit Awarded
0.50 High school students repeating a half-year course for which they have not received credit.
1.00 High school students repeating a full-year course for which they have not received credit. *Students MUST pass one marking period in each semester of a full-year course to qualify for one credit in summer school.
**All high school course offerings are for remedial credit ONLY (for high school students who have taken the course before and are repeating it in summer school).
**All middle school course offerings are limited to those students who have previously taken the course(s).
