Under the federal law, No Child Left
Behind (NCLB), students at certain schools receiving Title I funds may
be eligible to request a transfer to another school in the district.
Some Title I schools are identified as possibly eligible for this
transfer option because they have not made adequate progress on the
Maryland School Assessment (MSA) over a two year period. For more
information about transfer option and to find out whether your school is
eligible, please call the Title I Office at 410-222-5446.
We currently do not have any Title I schools who are in school improvement for the 2009-2010 school year. Therefore, we are not offering transfers at this time.
However, for those parents who
have children currently attending another school from a previous
transfer option, those students may stay at their receiving school but
transportation will no longer be provided.
Title I will offer transfer option
again, only if a Title I school fails to make AYP for two consecutives
years.
Please check this website
periodically or call the Title I office for transfer option updates.
