Secondary Science Fair Resource Guide for Parents, Teachers
& Students
Important information about AACPS Science
Fair policies
Anne Arundel County Public Schools Regional Science
and Engineering Fair and the Elementary Science Fair
are in full compliance with the Student Handbook and
Anne Arundel County Public School policies as well
as the International Rules and Guidelines of the
Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
This means students will not do research related
to the following topics unless they are a student
working in a Regulated Research or Industrial
Setting supervised by a qualified scientist and
having appropriate form approval BEFORE beginning
research.
No student should begin any research project
before being approved by the classroom teacher.
Depending on the topic, some projects will need
review by the School Scientific Review Committee or
the School Level Institutional Review Board.
- Alcohol & Tobacco
- Blood, Blood Products or other dangerous
biological agents
- DEA-controlled Substances
- Firearms and Explosives
- Hazardous Chemicals
- Hazardous Devices
- Prescription Drugs
- Radiation
