Calculation Nation:  uses the power of the Web to let students challenge opponents from anywhere in the world. At the same time, students are able to challenge themselves by investigating significant mathematical content and practicing fundamental skills.  It utilizes math strategy games that encourage your students to learn factors, fractions, multiples, symmetry and more!  These games expose students to mathematical problems like the ones they see in the classroom every day, with the added element of competition.  The games are aligned with the mathematical content of Grades 3 – 8.

Cool Math 4 Kids

This site covers many areas of mathematics including algebra, fractions and geometry.  The activities are interactive and do not require paper and pencil.

The NCES Classroom

The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) site includes interactive quizzes related to mathematics and statistics, a word of the day, an interactive probability activity, and much more.

NSA Crypto Kid's Page

This site includes paper and pencil activities and interactive games for students.  The activities are thought provoking and involve tremendous opportunities for extension or enrichment.

National Library of Virtual Manipulatives

This site contains virtual manipulatives sorted by content area and grade band.

Offers a problem of the week, at all different levels.  Students can answer the problem and submit their answer.  If they answer correctly, their name, school, and state will be listed on the site.

Puzzle Maker

This site allows users to generate puzzles such as math squares, word searches, crosswords, etc. using words or numbers.

General

A Math Dictionary for Kids

An animated, interactive dictionary for students that explains over 500 common mathematical terms in simple language.  It included definitions, examples, activities, practice, and a calculator.

Graphing

Students may create various types of graphs from data they input and then print and/or download their graphs to save on their own computer.  There are also games and activities for students to try.  This is part of the NCES classroom site for kids.

Mathematically Sane

This site is devoted to providing information to the general public regarding all aspects of math reform.  It contains articles, links, and resources for individuals to use to present to groups about the need for mathematics reform.

Rainforest Math

This site contains activities on a variety of topics.  It covers facts, probability, patterns and more.  It gives students instructions and then allows them to practice the topic.

Homework

Ask Dr. Math

Students can find help in solving a variety of problems by searching the FAQs section of the site.  There are examples and explanations on thousands of mathematical concepts.

Webmath

Students can either search for help on a topic, look for a similar problem to the one they are solving, or ask an expert for help on a problem.

This is an online education community for sharing instructional teacher videos.  Members can browse original educational videos uploaded by community members, upload and share your educational videos worldwide, find, join and create video groups to connect with teachers and schools who have similar interests, integrate with your own website using video embeds or links.

Maryland State Department of Education

This site provides teachers, parents and students with information about the Maryland State Voluntary State Curriculum and state assessments.  There are sample assessment items, lesson ideas, and other resources for teachers to use with students.

This Micron website has key mathematical problems that directly connect to a wide variety of careers and mathematics standards.  The site has lesson plans and an variety of activities for teachers to use real world problems as motivation instructional tools.

The site provides resources, materials, activities, person-to-person interactions, and educational products and services that enrich and support teaching and learning in an increasingly technological world.

Thinkfinity is Verizon Foundation’s comprehensive online portal to 50,000 standards-based lesson plans and educational resources for K-12 teachers, students and community organizations.

The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics

This site is the electronic companion to the Principles and Standards for School Mathematics. It contains the full text of the Principles and Standards, interactive e-examples that support the Standards, online resources, and general information about NCTM and the Principles and Standards.

A+ Math

This site was developed to help students improve their math skills interactively.  A+ Math contains a game room, homework helper, and flash card maker.

Helping your Child Learn Math

This site provides the opportunity to use games and activities at home to explore math with your child. The activities are intended to be fun and inviting, using household items.

Math League

The Math League is dedicated to bringing challenging mathematics materials to students. The Math League specializes in math contests, books, and computer software designed to stimulate interest and confidence in mathematics for students from the 4th grade through high school.

Multiplication Table

The Math Dude

Math Dude:  In the world of virtual reality, anything can happen.  Watch The Math Dude, the award winning video series that helps middle and high school students improve their Algebra skills. These fast–paced programs aimed at helping students with Algebra I. Each program helps students understand different parts of algebra instruction, which is one of the High School Assessment tests required to graduate.

Seeing Math

This web site allows students to explore a variety of graphs and how graphs can be affected by varying values.  It has graph explorers for linear and non-linear functions as well as graphing data in histograms and other forms.
