Retiree Healthcare Benefits

2017 Benefits Summary for Retirees

Medical premiums will be increasing approximately 9% for 2017.  CareFirst Dental premiums will increase 2% for 2017 (UCCI dental premiums and vision premiums will stay at 2016 rates).  Prescription benefits will continue with CVS Caremark (under 65) and Caremark SilverScript (over 65) for 2017.  The CareFirst “Medi-Comp” plan will replace the CareFirst Traditional Supplemental Plan.  Complete details are in the 2017 Retirees Healthcare Enrollment Guide.  Members will automatically be transitioned (no action required) if they wish to maintain the new coverage.  BlueChoice HMO and Triple Option Plan will both see $5 co-pay increases.  Those enrolled in the PPN will see a co-pay increase from $15 to $30 per office visit.  Prescription co-pays will also increase.  A new fourth tier will be added for specialty medications.  Details are available in the open enrollment materials.  New medical cards will be issued because of plan and prescription co-pay changes.

Long-term Care enrollment through Unum is once again available during retiree open enrollment.  Please refer to the left for further information.  Information will be available about the program at the retiree open enrollment meetings in October.
