Parent and community involvement in schools is a strong, positive force in
the academic success of Anne Arundel County students. Research shows that
parents who are more involved, regardless of their own educational background,
have children who perform better in school. The degree of parental and community
interest in quality education is critical to the impact of our high schools on
students' achievement and educational aspirations.
Our 12 comprehensive high schools provide students with a rich program of
studies to prepare them for the world of post-high school education and the
world of work.
Special education centers, applied technology centers, alternative schools,
and an outdoor education center also serve the children of Anne Arundel County.
