Gifted and Talented Advisory Council
The G/T Council is an advisory body whose major function is to serve as
the formal organization for promoting a respectful and effective
partnership between the Gifted/Talented/Advanced Programs Office and
county educators, students, and community members. The major purposes of
the G/T Council include: to provide guidance to the staff of the
Gifted/Talented/Advanced Programs Office relative to the implementation
of county gifted and talented programs, grades K-12 to participate in
planning for the continued improvement of G/T programs to provide
ongoing assessment of the direction of G/T programs to explore with
staff ways to identify and utilize community resources to enrich and to
expand opportunities for advanced students, grades K-12 to offer
creative and viable solutions to problems and challenges impacting G/T
programs to communicate G/T programs information, direction, success and
needs to a variety of audiences, including educational and governmental
policy-makers.
