Therefore, Education That Is Multicultural and Student Achievement (ETMA) is in accordance with Maryland’s  Education That Is Multicultural (COMAR 13A.04.05) and AACPS’s Bridge to Excellence Master Plan.  Focus of the Month Mission The Education That Is Multicultural and Student Achievement’s mission is to provide meaningful and relevant professional development for cultural proficiency and culturally responsive instruction so that achievement is accelerated for every student in Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Through ETMA Professional Development, we envision: Educators who understand the influence of cultural experiences in both their teaching and interactions with students.  Educators who recognize the importance of building relationships with students. Educators who have a great capacity to create culturally supportive learning environments and foster achievement for every learner. Practitioners who understand the value of initiating and sustaining professional conversations about the elimination of achievement disparities.
