January 2013 Workforce Diversity Newsletter

Hear from AACPS Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kevin M. Maxwell on the importance of Diversity at AACPS

Diversity at AACPS

Anne Arundel County Public Schools has established a multi-faceted approach to diversity and inclusion within our system. The Office of Workforce Diversity collaborates with other AACPS departments that have been established to increase diversity within our school community and to ensure the equitable allocation of services for our students.

Why is Diversity Important in the Workplace?

Diversity in the workplace allows individuals from different backgrounds and with different perspectives to learn from each other. This diversity can assist in the development of new and innovative ideas and can allow an organization to have better relationships with the existing community.

AACPS is committed to fostering a learning environment where diversity is encouraged and to recruiting and retaining a workforce that reflects the diversity of our students and surrounding population. We are committed to hiring the best employees of all backgrounds who will bring their unique talents and skills into our school system.
