AACPS belongs to the following Dance Organizations - National Dance Education Organization
NDEO focuses on research in dance education, methods of teaching dance, and information about dance programs K-university throughout the country.  NEDO holds an annual national conference on dance education, has an on-line library of dance literature and research, publishes an e-newsletter and a quarterly journal. - National Dance Association
NDA focuses on research, methodology, and dance performance K-university.  NDA holds an annual conference, publishes a quarterly newsletter, an e-newsletter, and articles in the Journal of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.  NDA selects a national Dance Teacher of the Year. - Maryland Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance
MAHPERD focuses on dance education and performance K-university.  MAHPERD holds an annual conference, publishes a semi-annual journal and e-news, and selects a state Dance Teacher of the Year.

AACPS teachers who have been MAHPERD Dance Teacher of the Year:  Judi Fey, Patti DeMarco, Dianne Rosso, Patty Jepson, Joanne Markiewicz - Maryland Council for Dance
MCD focuses on service to dance and dance education, publishes a bi-monthly state newsletter and e-dance updates, holds an annual 3-day dance festival, awards annual dance scholarships, and presents a Service Award (awarded annually when there is a qualified candidate).

AACPS teachers who have received the Service Award:  Judi Fey - Voluntary State Curriculum Dance (a state curriculum establishing minimum standards for dance Pre-K grade 8)

Judi Fey, Dance Consultant for AACPS chaired the writing of the VSC-Dance for the Maryland State Department of Education - Fine Arts Instructional Tool Kit (a tool kit for writing assessments for Fine Arts)

Judi Fey, Dance Consultant for AACPS served on the committee to write prototype assessments and on the committee to refine and pilot the dance assessments.
