In ensure that the needs of every student are met, today’s schools are using a collaborative process to identify student strengths and weaknesses, design and document progress on academic and behavioral interventions, and share responsibilities for all students. This change is required by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2000 and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004. Schools are becoming more proficient at using various forms of student data to appropriately differentiate instruction and to design
intervention goals based on student needs.
As part of this overall strategic effort, target schools are being trained in the CDM method of student support planning. Parents will be involved in the Student Improvement Plan at their child’s school site. These schools will provide feedback on the pilot year experience and the leadership team will determine the schools that will be chosen for next year’s efforts. Listed below are the target schools for the 2007-2008 school year.
