Help is available within Anne Arundel County through the following public, non-profit church and community agencies.
First Call for Help- 1-410-685-0525 or 211 - This 24 hour service provides information on health and human services in the community. Available in 150 languages.
National Free and Reduced Lunch Program- available through every school for income eligible families. Call your school to get the application sent home. (income guidelines on application.)
Department of Social Services- offers Food Stamps, Medical Assistance, Temporary Cash Assistance and Childcare Subsidy Program for families at poverty level. Generic applications available at marylandsail.org. It is necessary to apply in person. Arrive 8am if possible. Bring all forms of identification including Social Security cards, proof of residency, medical bills, etc.

Maryland Children’s Health Program (MCHP) - offers full health benefits to children of working families without access to health coverage. (Also available to families in somewhat higher income ranges for a premium payment. For example, a four person family with no coverage can make up to $63k per year.) SHARE- Self Help and Resource Exchange- provides quality food packages monthly to families at a reduced cost. $19.00 + 2 hours of volunteer service gets families a SHARE package of fresh vegetables, fruits, staple items and frozen meats worth up to $45.00. www,sharedc.org
The Church at Severn Run offers a food pantry for families living in the Severn area. Distribution is on a first come, first served basis. Fresh produce, bread, desserts, non-perishable items, meat products available. Food Pantry is open every Friday from 5pm-6pm at Van Bokkelen Elementary School located at 1140 Reece Road Severn, MD 21144.
